Thoughts on Why Inclusivity Is Imperative
Black people and their lives matter. They matter to all of us.
Everyone, no matter their race, gender, ethnicity or background matters and they are important. We must stop defining people with divisive and thoughtless definitions.

Why We Are Not Having Classes In The Studio?
Michigan is no longer under a stay at home order and many businesses have reopened with new safety guidelines, but our studio remains closed to in house classes. Here are several reasons why:
Stretch/Strengthen/Breathe
The Yoga Space has been helping people for over 20 years find balance in their lives. This is especially true now! The virtual platform is convenient; get away from “zoom fatigue” join with others in a relaxed way; no need to impress anyone, feel a part of a community. Iyengar Yoga offers unique ways to move that relieve the fatigue and tightness of sitting in front of a computer or dealing with grumpy kids, or that feeling of loneliness and overall feeling of being cooped up inside all day.
Find balance in your life:
strength v flexibility
agitation v slugishness
energy v inertia
distraction v attention
Students are encouraged to work at their own pace, learn their limits, observe themselves, respect and know their bodies. Change and growth should be the student’s choice. Classes are progressive and each class is different depending on the make up of the class. Teachers have gone through a rigorous training and are Iyengar Certified.
You can find home practice suggestions on our Practice Ideas page.
The National Association is offering free video recordings from the recent COAST TO COAST classes with Senior Teachers for members as a member benefit. Join the Association to watch anytime, as many times as you want: Patricia Walden, John Schumacher, Gloria Goldberg and more!
