The Yoga Space reflects the quiet nature of its location, tucked in side street off a busy business district in the west side of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It has lots of windows and we often see Canada Geese and even an occasional Sandhill Crane flying by landing on the nearby lake. Glancing out the windows I can mark the change of seasons in the trees. It is a quiet, peaceful place to do yoga.
I started the studio to get away from a commercial oriented atmosphere where there were a dozen other teachers. I wanted to establish a place where students could have some choice in teachers and where we all followed a similar approach so students would feel welcome making up missed classes or taking multiple classes with any of us.
We have been here since 2000. Our classes feel like ‘family’ where students get to know each other. We offer different level classes with individual attention to each student’s particular needs. Our classes are good for EveryBody, ages, abilities or activity levels. We accommodate athletes, people who do little exercise, pregnancy, and common issues such as difficult backs or knees in our classes. Our oldest student is 95 and we periodically offer a class for teens. Our goal is for everyone to leave class understanding him or herself better and feeling better than when they came in. We want to give our students a means to practice at home so they can do this for themselves. Please join us.
